Suv Camping - Using Your Suv as a Tent on Wheels

Owning a Sports Utility car gives one entrance to a vast array of outdoor activities. Its' no underground that Suvs can go places ordinary vehicles can't, but slight concentration has been given to permissible Suv camping tool and methods. That's right, we're talking about sleeping right there in the back of your Suv.

The first consideration, of course, is either your single model of car has sufficient room to as a matter of fact stretch out and sleep. I'm six feet tall and have no qoute sleeping in the back of my Nissan Xterra. The best way to find out if you fit is to crawl in there and lay down! I've found that sleeping in the car itself has advantages. The leading of these is the safety of being in a car during a rainstorm or foul weather. Also, while I'm not averse to old fashioned tent camping, I find that the car is much warmer than the cold ground. other plus is that I don't roll over in the night to find a tree root stuck in my back. Some great solutions for a good nights sleep in the back of your Suv may as a matter of fact be in your closet or basement right now. One of the best is a single sized futon pad. These roll-up nicely for converyance and supply not only comfort but insulation on colder nights. Some campers like to use inflatable mattresses of varied sizes, along with the small inflatable models sold for hikers in most outfitter stores. Personally, I use a pad from a chaise lounge on my back deck. It folds well and is rugged sufficient for tough use. Also, the Suv makes a great base-camp for day-hikes or fishing expeditions. By using the Suv as a tent you don't need to carry a restrictive mummy bag if you don't wish. Break out the cotton sheets and sleep in comfort!

Camping

Another observation is ventilation. Sleeping in your Suv with the windows accomplished can become uncomfortable, especially in warm weather. Not only do the windows become foggy, but the entire interior of the car can become moist with breath exhalation and quite stuffy. Leaving the windows down is a solution that works fine so long as there are no bugs flying around. However, add a few mosquitoes or other buzzing critter and the night can become very uncomfortable. Fortunately, there are a integrate of ready solutions for this problem. The first, and most expensive, is to purchase a truck tent theory for your Suv. There are many models designed to fit over the tail gate of many common models. Some are smaller and plainly generate a slight extra space with the gate open. Others generate an entire room off the back of the car with screened windows and room for the family. This choice is a matter of personal taste, budget, and intent. other solution, which can compliment a truck tent or be used solo is a product called the "Magna Screen". These allow you to sleep with your windows down and supply a barricade against insects. Basically, a Magna Screen is a screen that fits magnetically over the covering of your side window. They're inexpensive, durable and solve the qoute nicely.

Getting to the back-country should be no problem. The best thing you can own is a detailed map of your local National Forest or Park. Make sure to own a map that details all accessible fire roads in the area, and check local conditions to be sure that motor vehicles are allowed where you plan to camp. High end dashboard Gps units, such as Garmin, will also have details on entrance roads. Once you use a Gps unit you may never buy a map again, and with a good Gps theory you can mark all your favorite fishing and camping spots to return again and again with laser precision. So there you have it, your Suv can do even more for you if you're willing to try something new. Sleeping in your Suv may seem odd at first to some, but once you palpate the freedom it allows on back-country jaunts you will be sold. Remember, all the time respect your environment and all the time convention "leave no trace" tactics when enjoying the outdoors.

Camping Tents and Camping Sleeping Bags Can Be Used in Sub Zero Weather

Many people think of cold as temperatures below icy or even a petite above. Granted, a day at the beach with the climatic characteristic in the 40s would be cold but what I am referring to is temperatures well below zero and you have to get things terminated working at those temperatures. As I have lived my whole life in the north where every year we see some temperatures 30 - 40 below or colder, I will share things I learned to do to survive and even enjoy sub-zero weather.

The first item to consider is how long are you planning on spending outside during the sub-zero weather. Hardy campers may use camping tents and camping sleeping bags. Other people may only spend a few hours in the cold and some are only outdoors long enough to get to work. However, the basics remain the same.

Camping

Wear layered clothing with parkas and foot wear designed for cold weather. Many times I have observed people coming to work wearing a winter coat and complaining that they can't get warm. A lot of heat is lost through the neck and head so a parka is a must. Vanity is great but sub-zero conditions isn't the time for it.

Camping Tents and Camping Sleeping Bags Can Be Used in Sub Zero Weather

People often wear athletic shoes even in sub-zero weather since the sidewalks don't have any snow on them, not realizing that their feet have a lot of blood vessels in them. The blood vessels draw heat from the body which cools with near touch to the icy sidewalk causing the body to cool. No wonder they can't warm up. literally it can take any hours for your body to fully warm up if it gets cold.

Snow is your friend not your enemy in sub-zero condition. Snow provides insulation from the elements and although its not as tasteless as it used to be many people literally pack it nearby the house to ward off drafts. Be sure to wear your sun glasses when you are outside as the sun bounces off the snow and Uv damage to your eyes can occur in the winter.

Many out buildings are like camping tents and sleeping bags in the sense that with a petite exertion packing snow nearby them will make them a lot warmer. Be careful about running heaters in outbuildings or camping tents. Carbon monoxide which can build up is lethal. There have been a few young lovers who found this out the hard way.

Keep in mind that all takes longer and is harder to do when it is cold, along with construction a fire. First of all the clothing you wear is bulkier than summer clothing. In increasing you need to pace yourself to preclude overheating. This statement is very important. Working too hard can cause you to freeze to death.

The problem here is you perspire and wind up with wet clothing. Stopping to rest will cause your body to cool off rapidly as the moisture evaporates. The low humidity helps this along. When you are tired it is tempting rest for a while, but wet clothes will cool you off rapidly. Once your body climatic characteristic drops just a few degrees your brain starts to malfunction. It will tell you that you are now warm and you might take off some clothing. In increasing it might tell you to check out the back forty and see if the neighbors are home. It isn't likely you will make it. Any consumption of alcohol will make this problem worse as it not only opens up your blood vessels bringing body heat to the surface, but can cause you to fall asleep and not wake up in time.

If you do perspire enough to get wet clothing and you are unable to go inside loosen your clothing enough to start cooling off but keep moving. The idea is to slowly allow your clothes to dry while maintaining body heat.

At the end of a day outside do as the Finns do. Take a hot sauna. After a day outside and a hot sauna you will sleep like a baby. One thing to keep in mind, alcohol and saunas don't mix.

After trying this, if you still want to try sleeping in a camping tent and use a camping sleeping bag fetch ones that are rated for the weather you will be in. Camping tents should be canvas and be high enough to stand up in. Put some snow nearby the edges to block wind and tie the camping tent corners to something heavy or a tree. If possible pitch the camping tent where it has a wind block.

Camping sleeping bags should be rated for the weather and able to repel moisture. Don't put your camping sleeping bag directly on the ground as it needs something to insulate it from the icy ground. Snow does a good job if you want to try it.

A incorporate of tips- If you are planning on being outside in arctic type weather don't start an greatest diet. You will burn a lot of fat so be sure to eat right. Second, if traveling in arctic type weather carry a sleeping bag rated for the temperatures you are going to be in case of car failure. Unless you know where help is and it is close, it is good to curl up in your camping sleeping bag and wait for help.

Conversion Van Camping Tips

Conversion van camping doesn't give you the luxury of life in an Rv, nor the ache of sleeping in a tent. It can be tough to safely heat a van at night, but it's cheap compared to an Rv, and you can go places they cannot. We spent more than 25 nights sleeping in our conversion van last year.

Life In A Conversion Van

Camping

Make your van into something that's useable for you, especially if it's going to be your residence for days or weeks at a time. For my wife and I, this meant having space to move around. We took out the two middle seats which, I convinced Ana, would be good armchairs for the living room. Then we had adequate space for dressing or cooking. The bench-seat in back folds out into a comfortable bed, so we were all set for camping.

Conversion Van Camping Tips

When traveling, you need a theory of society to keep your space inside the van livable. After our first long trip, we noticed the many things we never used. We got more effective after that. We're also able to keep the space open, despite carrying many things, by using plastic storehouse tubs you can buy almost anywhere. They stack well, and if you need more room at night, you can put them on the roof. They're rainproof with the lids snapped on.

Heating A Conversion Van

Camping in a van can be cold at times, as it was for us in the deserts of Arizona last winter. We started the van and cranked up the heater once in a while, but only for brief periods. The danger of carbon monoxide poisoning is just too great to leave the car running while you are sleeping.

We also cooked to heat up the van. Our propane camp stove burned very clean. Any time it was cold, it was time to cook dinner, breakfast, or tea. This heated up the van nicely. Again, because of carbon monoxide, I wouldn't advise ever sleeping with a propane burner going. Still, sometimes a quick warm-up is all you need before you crawl under the blankets for the night.

The hidden to heating a conversion van when camping is to give up. Enjoy meal time warm-ups, but unless you have galvanic power, I don't know of a safe way to heat a van all night. Instead, you can heat yourselves. Wear warm clothing. Bring more blankets than you think you'll need. Prepare a thermos bottle full of hot coffee each night, so it will be waitng for you in the morning. You get to warm the van when you make it, and warm up yourselves drinking it for breakfast.

Advantages Of Conversion Van Camping

Traveling and camping in a conversion van costs less than in an Rv. The initial cost is a lot less if you buy used, as we did, and the cost of driving it is substantialy less. We averaged 18 miles per gallon on our last cross-country trip. Most recreational vehicles are lucky to get half of that, and they're very costly to maintain.

Compared with tent camping, a van is much more comfortable. Even if you backpack, you are probably going to drive some kind of car to wherever you go. With a van, you can come inside if it starts to rain. If you're backpacking a long way from home, you can save on motels on the drive to and from the trailhead.

Camping can be more comfortable in an Rv, but not in all ways. It's nice, for example, to park anywhere. We've taken naps in parking lots, and nobody was the wiser, thanks to tinted windows, curtains, and the inconspicuousness of a van. At a free campground in Florida we got the best spot, on a bank overlooking Lake Talquin, because our van was small adequate to fit there, unlike most of the Rvs.

It's great to be able to drive anywhere. In the conversion van, camping wherever we are when it gets dark is no problem. Finally, some larger Rvs drag a car nearby because the big rig just isn't practical for daily driving. Our coversion van is a second home And our traditional vehicle for shopping or going to work. That's flexibilty.

Camping Games for Adults

We've all had tons of fun playing I Spy or taking part in a camping scavenger hunt. There are plentifulness of board games that are ideal for playing by the campfire and a deck of cards is a must have on any camping trip. But what about some fun camping games just for adults?

Traditional camping sports, like horseshoes, volleyball, and shuffleboard are all the time fun, but here are a few creative camping games for adults and older teens that are sure to bring lots of enjoyment, as well as a few laughs. Coleman paintball gear is also a fun selection for adult outdoor entertainment.

Camping

Mr. B's Shave

Camping Games for Adults

Give everybody a balloon and a marker. Blow up the balloons and instruct everybody to draw Mr. B a face. Apply shaving cream to each balloon and give everybody a plastic knife for their razor. The first man to shave Mr. B without popping him is winner.

Where's the Grapes?

First, be sure you have plentifulness of table space for each participant. Put 5 grapes on a plate and heap whipped cream over the top until the grapes are hidden. Place a plate in front of each participant, have them put their hands behind their backs, and see who can locate and eat their grapes first. Be prepared with lots of napkins for this adult camping game.

Popping Crazy

Before the game, write a selection of crazy actions on strips of paper, like "cluck like a chicken," "do the twist," or "imagine your Elvis and perform a song". Put each action inside a isolate balloon and blow them up. All participants should sit, facing one another, in a large circle. Play some upbeat music and start passing the balloons from man to man colse to the circle. After a few minutes, stop the music. Each time the music stops, everybody should put the balloon they are keeping in their chair and sit on it with all their weight for about 5 seconds. Wait for those who popped their balloon to perform their crazy action, then start the music back and continue.

Things That Go Bump in the Night

This camping game for adults is so much fun that you may want to request your neighboring campers to join in! You need at least 4 people, but the game is more fun the more habitancy involved. You will need a flashlight and should play at night with all your camping lanterns off. designate one man as the curator and another as the visitor, everybody else is a statue. Statues can move through the dark, but must be completely quiet. The curator should have the flashlight and he and the visitor will walk colse to trying to catch the statues moving. If a statue is seen moving, heard bumping into something, or talks he becomes a visitor as well and joins the curator in eliminating other statues.

Balloon Lift

This is another camping game for adults that promises hilarious fun! Divide everybody into teams of two and place a balloon on the ground in front of each pair. The object of the game is to pick the balloon up, then pop it between the two people, but without using any hands! The first team to pop their balloon wins. Teams that use their hands are eliminated.

10 Fun Camping Activities For Kids To Do On A Camping Trip

Camping is fun as it is your opportunity to break away from the hectic habit of city life. Fantasize being able to breathe the fresh air while at the same time releasing and submitting yourself fully to nature. Also adults, kids also enjoy going camping outdoors. Any way if your camping trip takes too long, they might get bored after a few days away from their television and computer. That could spell disaster. Don't fret though, below are 10 camping activities that would legitimately keep them entertained and occupied.

1. Get wet and go splashing. If you cannot find a good swimming spot, usually most of the camping parks would suggest where you could find a good and safe spot for you to swim, either a big lake or a small brook. Some of them might have their own swimming pools. Avoid the swimming pool at all costs and go swimming in a lake amidst nature. The palpate that you'll get is indescribable. Some camping parks would offer a boat rental service, where you could rent a boat or canoe for a small fee. Your kids will have a blast. A word of caution, never leave your kids swimming by themselves. Be watchful at all times.

Camping

2. Rent a bike and go biking together. Most camping sites have biking trails for you and your family to explore. Be adventurous. Riding bicycles is very enjoyable as you are able to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Ride slow and make sure that every person is not left behind. Bring a map with you and plan your biking trip adventure before making the trip so that you know exactly where you are heading and where you want to be. Plan your time properly, so that you would be able to make the whole trip and back to your camp before it gets dark.

10 Fun Camping Activities For Kids To Do On A Camping Trip

3. Go bird and animal watching. Most forest parks and camping sites have brochures or leaflets about the dissimilar types of animals that can be found colse to the area that are worth watching and to look out for. A fun thing to do is to buy books on wild animals before your camping trip and play a game with your children and see who can spot the animals first. Just be sure that you keep your children at a safe distance.

4. Play outdoor games such as tug-o-war or the excellent sack race or just plain tag. Children love these games, especially when they're playing these games in the woods. Make sure that you are playing in a clear area to avoid unwanted accidents and also avoid making loud noises that might disturb other campers and especially the wildlife.

5. Go on a scavenger hunt. Who doesn't love to go on such quests and adventures. What's good about a scavenger hunt is that it involves the physical, which means you'll get yourself and your kids to rehearsal while having fun at the same time. Prior to the game, just warn the kids on the type of things that they should avoid, such as poison ivy, sumac, oak and other prickly plants that might be lurking in the woods. Also, you have to be sure that you teach your kids how to read maps. That could also be a dissimilar game and will be discussed below.

6. Teach your kids how to read maps and compasses. Educate them on the point of pilotage and eye the forest with them using the maps and compasses. Show them the location that they are at now on the map and where you guys are going. Get them to observation anyone important on your path, such as a tree with a weird shape or something that is out of the commonplace to identify. This should go hand in hand with your scavenger hunt.

7. What's camping without a campfire? This is a must to every camper out there. Your camping palpate would not be unblemished without a campfire. This should be done at the end of the day before you go to sleep. Telling each other scary stories and jokes is recommended. Also, don't forget to bring a guitar and sing songs colse to the campfire. Other activities you can do colse to the campfire is to play word games and riddles while roasting your favourite marshmallows and hotdogs.

8. Someone else night performance that you can do is to watch the stars in the sky. This is both fun and educational. Get every person to lie on an open field and appreciate the free light show in the sky. You can also bring a star chart and try to eye the famous constellations and other heavenly bodies. If you're lucky, you might catch a shooting star. Don't forget to make your wish though.

9. This next game is frowned upon by some campers, but you should bathe in the rain when it rains. This is recommended if the weather is not cold. Otherwise you might get sick. It's sort of depressing when it rains when you are out camping. Rather than complaining about it, take the opportunity to have fun in the rain and enjoy mother earth's natural shower. Not recommended when there is thunder and lightning.

10. Just naturally enjoy the moment and relax. It might not be a big hit with the kids but it is the most appropriate time to bond with your family and enjoy everyone's company. Take your time to enjoy the nature, it's not everyday your family get to enjoy this holiday.

There are many other outdoor activities that you could enjoy doing when you go out camping. By no means that the 10 activities discussed above are complete. The most important thing to remember is to enjoy your time with your family. It's not everyday that you get this kind of opportunity. So, enjoy!

Camping Checklist For Your Camping Trip - Don't Forget to Keep a List Handy to Check Your Supplies!

So you want to go camping, or at least give it a try. Good for you! First you need a Camping Checklist. Now what method of camping are you going to use? A tent, pop up, voyage trailer or a truck camper shell? Let's see, space is dinky for sure if you go in a tent or truck camper shell. You will need to use those space bags and contract your clothing and bedding. Roll your sleeping bags and take small bags for toiletries. If you have a pop-up camper, your tool level is better. You indubitably have cabinets to put stuff in. Some come with a refrigerator, but it doesn't have much space in there!

You will probably need a cooler to keep most of your food in. A pop-up is small, contract and easy to tow and park, but lacks space for living. The furniture indubitably makes into a sleeping area. These are great if you plan to stay surface most of the time and just sleep in the pop up camper. You have to be truthful what you pack inside your pop up, because the top does let down and all things has to be stored below a safe bet level so there is room for the latches to be secured. There are advantages over a tent, but disadvantages for packing. If you have a voyage trailer, then Rv camping is easy.

Camping

You can put anyone you want in it and there are cabinet spaces everywhere. You can find places to put stuff and stuff to put in places. With the spacious warehouse areas accessible from surface the camper, you can store tons of stuff. All the cabinet doors have a extra lock hook, keeping the doors from occasion when traveling. Most things you will need can be indubitably secret out of sight. I have a board hanging just inside my door that is half bulletin board and half dry erase. This is the handiest thing to have. You can pin up things you need to keep up with and write down things you need to remember.

Camping Checklist For Your Camping Trip - Don't Forget to Keep a List Handy to Check Your Supplies!

The refrigerator is larger, so you don't need an extra cooler. This gives you extra room inside and surface the camper. It can store sufficient food for some days worth of camping. The freezer part will hold a bag of ice and food. With the many cabinets in the kitchen, there is plenty of room for your canned items. Don't forget about the cooking utensils. You can find a place for all things and keep all things in it's place. With a camping checklist, you won't forget to bring the necessities. An alphabetically arranged checklist will help you to keep your kitchen ready for some serious business.

The sleeping area is larger, so sleeping bags, blankets and pillows are indubitably on the bed or even in the under bed storage. You will find a closet with racks to hang your clothes. Keep on your list the clothing you will need to bring according to the weather and the seasons. I have some lists in my camper. One for the kitchen, one for the bedroom, one for outdoor stuff, one for food and one for tools. My husband checks his part of the lists and I check mine. A well composed list is an requisite need. Using a highlighter, put a list in every room and highlight what you will need for that room.

Camping Dinners - 7 Foil Cooking Recipes

Somehow food tastes much best outdoors. Maybe it's the crisp and fresh air. Maybe my appetite is bigger. Maybe it's being able to eat without being interrupted by the phone!

The only drawback to camping cooking is establishment and cleaning up. I don't like cooking multi-step recipes or scrubbing smoke-stained dishes in less than sufficient dishpans after the meal when I can be watching the sunset.

Camping

That is why my popular cooking 'pot' is aluminum foil.

Camping Dinners - 7 Foil Cooking Recipes

Foil cooking allows you to prepare delicous meals in the coals of your campfire and have nothing to wash when supper is over! Below are 7 of my popular foil wrap recipes. But first let's go over the basics of tin foil cooking:

Use heavy-duty foil so you don't burn the food and so the packet doesn't tear.Use assembly-line technique, not one foil packet at a time. EPut some butter in the packet so your food won't stick to the packet.Sprinkle seasonings generously. It makes others think you are a pro at this.Double-seal by folding twice to keep the moisture in. When you fold leave air room for heat circulation inside.Don't cook foil packets over roaring fire. A small fire or white hot coals is better.
Tip: For first night, prepare the foil packets at home. When you get to camp, just toss them on the coals.

Here are 7 foil packet recipes: Note: depending on how hot the coals are, it takes ordinarily 20-30 minutes, less for fish or pre-cooked items. Turn every 5 minutes.

Recipe 1. Ham & Sweet Potato

- 1 slice of pre-cooked ham (this can be fresh or canned)

- 1 serving canned yams (about 3 pieces)

- 1 or 2 canned pineapple rings

- 1 to 2 tablespoons of brown sugar

- 1/2 tablespoon butter

Recipe 2. Chicken Potato Packets

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

- 4 medium red potatoes, cut in 1/2-inch cubes

- 2 cups frozen green peas

- 1 jar (12 oz.) chicken gravy

- 1 teaspoon salt

- ½ teaspoon dried thyme

- 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe 3. Baby back pork ribs

- 3 pounds baby back pork ribs

- 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar

- 1 tablespoon paprika

- 2 teaspoons garlic powder

- 1 ½ teaspoons pepper

- ½ cup water

- 1 ½ cups barbecue sauce

Or just purchase a packet of ready-to-heat Lloyds Barbecue Ribs

Recipe 4. Tuscan Sword Fish

- 1 can (15 oz.) Great Northern or cannellini beans, rinsed, drained

- 1 medium tomato, chopped

- 2 tablespoons ready pesto, divided

- 2 swordfish steaks (4 to 6 oz. Each)

- 2 teaspoons lemon juice

- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper

- 2 lemon slices

Recipe 5. Shrimp Jambalaya Packets

- 1 pound peeled and de-veined medium uncooked shrimp

- 4 cups cooked rice

- ½ pound smoked sausage, sliced

- 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes with garlic and onions

- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped

- 3 to 4 teaspoons dried Cajun seasoning

- 1 teaspoon hot sauce

Recipe 6 Mexican Pork Packets

- 4 boneless pork chops, about 1/2-inch thick

- 1 teaspoon chili powder

- 1 cup medium chunky salsa

- 1 can (15 1/4 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained Or 1 holder (10 oz.) frozen whole kernel corn

- ½ cup chopped green bell pepper

Recipe 7 Cranberry Apple Sweet Potatoes

- 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch slices

- 2 Granny Smith or Golden delicious apples, cored, thinly sliced in rings

- ½ cup dried cranberries

- 3 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted

- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Have fun foil cooking. Open the foil thought about to avoid a burst of hot steam .

For foil sweetmeat recipes, watch a video of how to assemble campfire banana boat and other foil-wrapped sweetmeat recipes [http://www.joyofcamping.com/camping-tips/campfire-smores-banana-split].

Foods For Camping, No Cooking, No Refrigeration!

As I sit here, I ask myself, do I write an record or a list? Do I list the names or just write an in-depth story about camping foods? Or can I make my list into an article.  I will do both and all, so here we go.    I have been camping many times over the past few years.  And though I do not consider myself a camping expert, I do feel that I have some great helpful hints for campers in the areas of food, hiking, putting up tents, selecting and purchasing tents and other ideas.  So, I will write a series of articles about camping, camping helpful hints, and other associated items associated to camping, backpacking, hiking, and campfires, and the rest.   This record that I write here at this moment is totally dedicated to foods.  However, the record is geared to foods that you can take camping when you do not want to start fires, make campfires, or lug any cooking equipment.  Yes, you can camp out without the fire and without the charcoal and without finding firewood.  That does make camping easier for everybody and it lightens your pack.  The suspect your pack is lighter is because each day as you eat, you have less in your pack, and you are not carrying matches, starter fluid, charcoal or other associated items.   So now that I have explained myself, here is my list:

Foods for a Fire-free camping excursion:

Camping

Grains:

Foods For Camping, No Cooking, No Refrigeration!

Nuts, rice cakes, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, already-popped popcorn, melba toast, dry cereals,  saltine, ritz or other crackers, corn nuts, potato sticks in cans, all sorts of chips, and crackers
Cans:

tuna, canned meat such as vienna sausages --these are yummy when cold or you can set them out in the sun for a while, garbanza beans, sliced potatoes, peas
Other:

any range of breads or crackers, rice cakes, mini-rice cakes, raisens, prunes, dried fruits, apple dippers, health food crackers and snacks dried fruit rolls or fruit wraps peanut butter and jelly, sandwiches laughing cow cheese, bon bell cheese  --neither of these need refrigeration or cooking grated cheeses by the chunk or grated candies, chocolate, juices or milks in the parma packs  ; none of these need refrigeration pickles, all sorts of pickles
Others:

fresh fruits and vegetables such as carrots, apples, oranges, pea pods, grapefruits, watermelons, melons, pears, chinese apples, and pomegranates, and more Loaves of Italian bread, sliced breads, Rice (see explanation below) whatever else you have that does not need refrigeration or cooking
There is your list. You can pack any and all of that and avoid cooking and avoid needing ice or refrigeration.  Now for the rice.  purchase itsybitsy rice.   You can soak itsybitsy rice in water out in the sun and have nice hot rice for your meal.  It works, try it.  Put the rice in a plastic clear package with some warm water.  Leave it out in the sun, and you will have hot cooked rice.  You can even just put it in water and you do not even need the sun , as long as it is itsybitsy rice.

Hope this helps you.   Write with your own suggestions; I would love to hear them.

I created this record on May 25, 2008.
