Pet Beds, Dog Beds, Designer Dog Beds

Pet Beds, Dog Beds, Designer Dog Beds

When searching for the best pet beds for Fido or Patches, you will want to
consider durable materials for outdoor use, and washable fibers for indoor use. Most pet enthusiasts know that dog beds can get very dirty and smelly, especially in the hotter summer months. To avoid your designer dog beds from turning into curbside refuse, make sure that you make a wise pet bed purchase decision based on the size, breed, and health conditions of your pet.

For example, if your pet
suffers from hip dysplasia or arthritis, you might want to get a heated pet bed that
will keep your animals' bones warm while they sleep. Cold bedding can lead to stiff
muscles and joints, causing further aches to your dog or cat that is already
suffering.

Camping Cot

If you prefer designer dog beds, to give your pet its own special flair, you can
purchase beds that are bejeweled or even have your pet's name stitched into the
fabric. The best kinds of pet beds are washable and durable, because as a pet
owner you are probably very familiar with pet odors and hair shedding. Be sure to
look for bedding that comes with washable covers or made with microfiber material
that will keep dirt and soil from being imbedded into your dog's pillow. An animal
that has a soft and warm place to sleep at night will love you as a best friend
forever, not to mention will keep your dog or cat from taking up your side of the
bed at night!

Pet Beds, Dog Beds, Designer Dog Beds

If you live in a warmer climate with hot summer months, your pet might enjoy a
durable aluminum framed pet bed that is similar to a camping cot. These beds are
low to the ground but raised just enough to circulate air from beneath to keep your
pet cool. You can also add a throw blanket on top of the bed to create a cozy place
for your pet to snuggle. These types of beds are lightweight and perfect to keep
your pet's odor from becoming absorbed into your carpets. Animals that have
arthritis will also enjoy new memory foam pet beds that will adjust to their weight
and give them the comfort that they deserve as they sleep. With such a variety of
bed bedding options available, you will surely bring happiness to your dog or cat by
giving them their own place to sleep.

Things to Bring on a Camping Trip

Things to Bring on a Camping Trip

The enjoyment that can be had from a camping trip largely depends on the camping gear that people bring to camp.  When people bring all the right gear at camp and make use of them then the trip becomes a relaxing and fun experience for everyone.  Missing essential gear and supplies can result in frustrations at the camp site, ruining the whole experience for everyone.

Below is a list of the things that you should bring to camp to ensure the safety of the campers and to enhance the enjoyment at camp.

Camping Cot

Bring a good-sized tent to camp. The tent will protect you from the sun, wind and other harsh elements outdoors. There are a lot of camping tents in the market so it shouldn't be too hard to find a good tent that will fit your budget and meet your needs.  The camp will serve as your temporary home at camp so make sure you have enough space for everyone joining the trip.

Things to Bring on a Camping Trip

Bring food and cooking equipment.  Food is the most essential item to bring to camp.  Make sure you bring enough food to last the whole trip and bring food that won't easily spoil. You will also need some basic cooking equipment such as a camping stove or a camping grill.  To keep your food from spoiling and to enjoy cold drinks at camp, you should also bring a good-sized cooler.

For the ultimate comfort in camp, don't forget to bring portable beds.  Portable beds are much more comfortable to use than traditional sleeping bags.  Sleeping on a portable bed will allow you to have a good night's rest so that you will get enough energy to enjoy all the activities at camp the following day.  Having a portable cot will also help campers stay warm during cold nights and cool during warm nights because they will be a few feet above ground instead of sleeping directly on the ground.  Portable beds can also be used during the day when you want to take a short nap or rest after a tiring activity at camp.

For safety at camp, you should bring a first aid kit that contains aspirin, bandages, gauze, pads, insect-repellant, and other health and safety supplies. The first aid kit will help you treat minor injuries at camp.  For your safety, you should also bring other safety supplies such as ropes, a Swiss knife and other emergency gear.  You should also bring a good flashlight or other possible sources of light.

Bring a supply of water. There is no assurance that the tap water at camp will be safe to drink. Make sure you bring a supply of water to use for drinking and cooking.  Water is heavy so you probably won't be able to bring a lot but you should at least bring enough for drinking.

There are also some non-essential things that you can bring to camp that will help keep the people at camp entertained such as board games, a camera, binoculars and other items.

How to Cook Cod Fish

How to Cook Cod Fish

Learning how to cook cod fish is simple. Cod is a flaky fish and is good fried, baked, and poached. Slow cooking also works well to coax out the delicate flavors. Traditionally, it is served with lemon wedges and a light sauce composed of parsley. You can easily add it to stews, risottos and soups as well. One simple pan-fried recipe calls for lightly frying the cod in oil and serving it with a creamy mix of potatoes, green onions, and butter.

Other recipes add an Asian accent broiling cod with ginger and soy sauce for example, gives the fish a Japanese touch. Cod roe is actually a delicacy in Japan. For those trying to eat healthier, cod makes a great low-fat, low calorie meal. For an easy, no fuss, diet dinner, try baking cod in foil and seasoning with lemon, salt, pepper and olive oil. Accompany it with a large, leafy green salad. Another healthy diet option is to grill the cod seasoned with olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon and garlic powder. You might also simply brush a couple cod filets with BBQ sauce and broil it.

Camping Cot

Cod is also the main ingredient in fish in chips; simply batter the fish with a mixture of egg, bread crumbs and some cream, and fry it in a frying pan. Or for healthier version, bake it in the oven with Japanese panko crumbs. Additionally, you can roll the cod in a cornmeal mix and fry them in oil or bake them. As you can see, mastering how to cook cod fish is actually quite uncomplicated.

How to Cook Cod Fish

No matter how you decide to prepare your fish by poaching, broiling, grilling, stewing, etc. -- make sure not to overcook it. Think 8-10 minutes per inch of thickness, i.e. if you have 2 pieces of 1-1/2 inch thickness and weighing about 16-20 ounces, do not cook it for any more than 20-30 minutes. Your oven should be set no high than 350 F or 160 C. Grilled cod fish is done once it starts to flake.

Cod fish is extremely versatile and healthy; once you learn how to cook cod fish, the sky's the limit. Incorporate it into your diet for a healthier lifestyle.

Camping Cots - Yard Sale Treasure

Camping Cots - Yard Sale Treasure

Have you ever heard the phrase "someone's junk is someone else's treasure"? Yard sales are great places to find inexpensive camping supplies. You can really stock up on flashlights, eating and cooking utensils, chairs or if your lucky an old lantern. Sometimes you find a real treasure like an air mattress or a camping cot.

A few years ago the wife and I were out driving around and she suggested that we should hit some garage sales. I reluctantly said yes. I used to think garage sales were all junk. I have enough of my own junk why buy someone else's? So we are driving around and we are going through garage after garage and then she comes up to me and says she has something to show me. She points to these two old camping cots! I'm thinking to myself these are about - a piece, I am not paying a penny over . She tells me that these camping cots, that are in pretty good shape are only a a piece! Sold! I have never spent a better in all my life. They have been a life saver. I believe you should never camp without a camping cot. Air mattresses are good but they deflate sometimes and get holes, but camping cots you just unfold and go. We still have those old camping cots and still use them. we are planning on getting another set pretty soon because these are on their last leg but I think I have gotten my dollars worth. They are by far the best garage sale buy I have ever made.

Baby Boomers Are No Longer Young, But Very Old

Baby Boomers Are No Longer Young, But Very Old

Considering the number of web sites that give statistics and discuss details down to the number who are dieing per hour, one might say that the Baby Boomers industry is still alive and well. Sadly though, this is despite the fact that the ranks are thinned every few seconds. Death is inescapable and imminent.

Perhaps, when all are dead the phenomenon will finally die too, and become history. Until that time in the not too distant future the issue is still alive and more in the news now that it was in the days when boomers were bawling in cots, or playing with toys now considered illegal.

Camping Cot

This is because of current problems caused by huge numbers of retirements, pensions, applications for medical help and funerals. Now near the end of their game, dismissed as irrelevant by younger generations they are making late calls on the attention of the world. Demography is in a dither.

Baby Boomers Are No Longer Young, But Very Old

There are those who believe that the phenomenon began in 1946, in America. Such is not the case because World War 11 was indeed a world wide war, and even before America joined the war family disruptions and political conflicts had stimulated rapid acceleration in the numbers of conceptions and births right across the world. A generation was being born that would be required to adapt to more changes in the course of their lives than any generation before them.

A baby born in London, or Berlin, in 1943 would almost certainly be bombed. Its diet would be seriously curtailed by rationing and its mother would, in most cases be temporarily a single working mother, since her husband would be away involved in harsh military conditions.

The baby would be one of many, probably born not as a result of artificial insemination, but of a hastily grasped opportunity for passionate embraces. Though the infant would be carefully nurtured it would not be the central focus of a worried couple, but a child expected to fit in with other pressing concerns facing its parents.

Soon the tables would be turned. The infants, now post modern young adults, would turn upon their parents, accusing them of war mongering. In America teenagers wandered off bare footed to music festivals and collected their clothes from downtown charity stalls. In China, Red Guards marched their parents off to re-education camps.

The post modern era was defined as one in which long held beliefs and values were up-ended. Taboos were no longer sins, but rights. Cherished ideals were ridiculed or vilified. Most of what happened behind the Iron and Bamboo curtains was obscured for Westerners. They got on with being well off, eventually cutting their hair as they took advantage of enormous opportunities for wealth created by population growth.

Sea changes in the nineteen nineties brought yet more dramatic changes. Feminism had brought down gender barriers, and on a smaller scale the Berlin wall was down, the Soviet Union disintegrated. Globalization had become a buzz word. Economic power was shifting rapidly from the West to The East as Indians and Chinese worked much harder for much less.

Most dramatic of all, telephones attached to walls, still evident in some movies, appear obsolete and in 1991 the Internet changed everything, for good. Many baby boomers try valiantly to cope with the latest gadgets, but soon it will be over for them. Life has gone by in a wink. Nanotechnology has altered the human perspective. Yet they remain a generation that has wrought immeasurable change on the Planet, very largely for good.

"Baby Boomers" have redefined the way their generation is perceived - and this feisty group of retirees are more active than any other retired generation.

Folding stools are very popular. We find that many customers order three or four swiveling or fixed bar stools for their own family and a couple of folding stools for use by visitors. Our stools have a ladder back, so it is very easy to fix two cup hooks into a wall or the back of a door and then hang the stool over the cup hooks to store it out of the way. The folding stools are available with a black padded seat or a natural Beech wood seat. However, we can recover the padded seat with almost any colour of faux leather as an optional extra, if required. The folding stools are available in two heights. The most popular has a seat height of 65 cm, which is suitable for use at a standard kitchen worktop. However, we also hold extra high stools with a seat height of 80 cm. These are suitable for use at a high bar poseur table or a raised breakfast bar. Quite often they are used on exhibition stands. So we are the specialists when you are looking for folding stools. How to Cut Weight For Wrestling!

How to Cut Weight For Wrestling!

Let's take a look at the typical year for a wrestler. During the off-season, the wrestler is in the gym lifting weights. The workouts are intense. The wrestler eats normally, sustaining muscle, and adding strength to their body. The wrestler might compete occasionally in a tournament or go to a wrestling camp. The wrestler is learning more moves, and skills, along with improved strength. All is good. Things look great for the upcoming season!

Then the season arrives. The wrestler decides to cut 15-20 lbs. to move to a lower weight class, where they will be big, strong, and ready for any competition. The wrestler eats very little, runs a lot (even with plastic suits on), spits, uses saunas, etc. to make weight. The wrestler makes weight. The wrestler has a good season, making weight each week, and binging after each match.

Camping Cot

BUT THE WRESTLER COMES UP SHORT OF THEIR POTENTIAL!

How to Cut Weight For Wrestling!

The wrestler doesn't understand. He practices hard, really hard! He dropped two weight classes, and makes weight each week. He drills after practice, and works as hard or harder than anyone else in the mat room. He doesn't strength train during the season because he practices so much, and doesn't have the time or energy to work out. Besides, all that hard work in the weight room during the off-season has made him really strong!

Or did it?

If you are cutting weight for wrestling, and want to be the BEST your potential will allow, make sure you:

1. Keep Up Your Strength Training

During the off-season you want to work to gain as much strength as possible. I recommend training 3 times each week in the weight room, working the muscles that are used for wrestling. Be consistent and document your progress. Always strive to add a little more weight or repetitions. During the wrestling season, YOU HAVE TO STRENGTH TRAIN! You will not keep strength gained during the off-season if you neglect training during the season. If you are cutting weight, it is even more important to keep up your strength training. If you are cutting weight, practicing, and wrestling in dual meets and tournaments, your body is using its own muscle for food. You can prevent some of this by getting in a full body strength training workout every 4-5 days.

2. Eat More Frequently

Don't starve your body to make weight! If you starve your body, you are slowing your metabolism down. Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories. A calorie is a unit of energy. By starving, you will cause a rebound effect, and have even more trouble making weight next season. The answer lies in trying to lose fat, not muscle and water. You do this by eating more frequently. Four smaller meals each day will allow you to lose body fat while sparing muscle, give you energy to wrestle hard, and be strong the entire match.

3. Give Your Body The Correct Amount of Calories

To find out how many calories your body needs to keep up muscle while cutting weight, take your current body weight, and multiply times 13. This is the minimum number of calories you need to consume each day.

4. Eat a 40-30-30 Ratio

Now that you know how many calories you need to cut weight and still keep your muscle and strength that you've built up, you need to eat the proper ratio of protein, carbohydrates and fats. 40% of your calories should come from lean proteins (egg whites, turkey, lean beef, whey protein powder, skinless chicken). 30% of your daily calories should come from complex carbohydrates (multi grain bread, baked potato, sweet potato, brown rice, oatmeal), and 30% of your calories should come from unsaturated fats (olive oil, nuts). Usually you don't have to figure in the fats other than a tiny bit of oil on a salad, because the meats that you consume will have a small percentage of fat that will suffice for the day.

5. Don't Jog excessively If Your Goal Is To Make Weight

Nothing is more grueling than a tough high school or college wrestling practice. You shouldn't get in the habit of jogging for miles, and miles each week in order to lose weight. First of all, it will not give you the endurance for wrestling like good old-fashioned live wrestling in practice will. If you try to lose weight by jogging, you will start eating the muscle off of your body. Aerobic activity is NOT an efficient means of losing fat. A controlled meal plan is the answer.

6. Don't Dehydrate

In order to wrestle at your best, and have your body working efficiently, you need to have all of the body systems working optimally. Each of your body systems requires water. If you have to lose a couple of pounds to make weight after you have followed the above tips, then you will restrict your water intake. Restricting water intake is not the same as not drinking water at all though. You still need to give yourself 3-4 ounces of water every 3 hours on days that you are trying to make weight. Remember, this is to keep up your strength. You need to plan well in order to do this right. Don't weight until two days before, and get drastic in your weight loss system.

7. Stay Away From Sugar

Wrestlers who cut weight by eating very little and doing excessive jogging tend to get sugar cravings. Sugar has no place in your wresting meal plan. The only time my clients consume sugar is immediately following an intense strength training session. If you are within 3 or 4 lbs. of your weight class, you might want to consume 60 grams or so of high glycemic carbohydrates (sugar) on the form of grape juice or apple juice within 20 minutes of your strength training session. This replenishes the body's glycogen stores and helps with recuperation. In general, stay away from sugars. They have no long-term positive effects on your energy. They are much more likely to be converted and stored as fat.

25 Fun, Cheap, And Easy Things To Do With Your Kids This Summer

25 Fun, Cheap, And Easy Things To Do With Your Kids This Summer

Summer is a great time to finally squeeze in all of those activities that you don't have a chance to do during the school year. Here are 25 fun, cheap, and easy ideas for keeping your kids busy until the school bell rings again in the fall.

1. Map out all of the different parks in your county and hit each one (on a different day) with a picnic lunch.

Camping Cot

2. Teach the kids some jump rope rhymes from your own childhood.

25 Fun, Cheap, And Easy Things To Do With Your Kids This Summer

3. Find a new trail to hike.

4. Plan a scavenger hunt. All you need to do is list 20 or so items that are frequently found in nature. Then distribute the list to each of the kids. The first person or team to find everything and bring them back wins a small prize.

5. Tour a local factory or museum.

6. Take the kids to a scenic area with a set of watercolors and ask them to paint what they see.

7. Visit a local botanical garden.

8. Call your local public library to ask if they are sponsoring any reading contests or special story times.

9. Get a group of friends together and take the kids to the nearest water park or amusement park.

10. Start your own reading incentive program for the kids. For every three books, treat them to a sundae or a special trip to the bookstore.

11. Check your local newspaper for fun community events, such as local dance performances or magic shows.

12. Explore a new bike path.

13. Each Friday, eat a picnic lunch somewhere new.

14. Teach the kids how to cook or bake something delicious.

15. Teach the kids how to decorate cakes and let them experiment with a few cupcakes.

16. Bake a dozen muffins and take them to your spouse's office. Visit for a bit.

17. Take turns with other parents in your community teaching the kids about different crafts.

18. Get a nice new workbook. Before the school year ends, ask the teacher what books she recommends, so your child will keep up with her studies.

19. Plant a vegetable or flower garden together.

20. Ask your children to research a charity and brainstorm ways that they can raise money for it.

21. Visit a local farm or orchard and help out for an afternoon.

22. Ask the kids if they would like to learn a new sport or activity. The summer is a great time to try something new without the commitment that often comes with starting it for a school year.

23. Assign the kids a pen pal, and encourage them to write notes and letters every couple of weeks.

24. Have the kids try out a new musical instrument.

25. Make an obstacle course with sidewalk chalk and time each other on how long it takes to complete the course.

Get creative and think of your own ideas to enjoy some fun in the sun, and don't forget to spend some unstructured time, doing absolutely whatever you want.
